My New Roommate~~~

Two weeks ago, a new roommate moved into our house. She was a Japanese girl, and my host mother told me that she was studying Law in Japan. She had a chance to study aboard for one month. She rarely talked with us. Even at supper time, when we were talking, she just looked at us, as a very good listener. Sometimes I tried to talk with her, but she was so shy, and her face changed red when I talked to her. I think maybe because of the new environment. Everything was new for her. I can remember that when I first time moved into my host father’s house. I also was very quite, and didn’t like talk with other roommates. I was very afraid of my new life in Calgary. I worried about everything. Fortunately, my host father and mother, who were the first two people I got along with, treated me very kindly. For this reason, I felt much better after one month. From then on, I have been lived in this family for half a year. Every person in this family was very nice; it looks like a real family, even though we come from different countries. I spent very happy time with them.

You told me about the japanese girl a few weeks ago. However, it seems no better for her adaption to the new life. Different people have different personalities. Maybe her character is not very fit for staying abroad. Unlike you and me, I think, we can get with the new culture very well. We don't have very much homesick, right?

I hope you can get on well with your new roommate, I guess it is a good chance to improve your English skills, too.
